Peasant Blouse
Finished last week: white peasant blouse with gathered sleeves, gathered neckline and lightly gathered back. I used self-created bias tape for the neckline and stitched the hem and sleeves with saffron-colored thread.
I read the importance of making a muslin example of all patterns to test fit before going full speed ahead with the primo fabrics. This is actually my muslin. In the case of a simple, unfitted blouse like this one, I don't think there is a real need for such a muslin anyway. The fabric came from a long stretch of cotton (linen blend?) that I inherited from my Nonna.
Right now Daniel and I are conducting a radon test in our basement where my sewing area is, to be sure it's completely safe to work down there. There shouldn't be any drafts or disturbance while the test is being conducted for 96 hours, so I have to wait patiently until it's done.....10:50 pm tonight!
